FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Treatment

+ How long does it take?

The length of treatment varies with the complexity of the treatment. The average treatment time with braces is 18 months, and you will be seen every 8 weeks. Once the teeth are in their correct position a period of retention is required to ensure they stay there.

+ Does it hurt?

Putting the braces on does not hurt but the teeth may be a little sore for a few days while they are getting used to being moved around. This is easily controlled with pain relief such as panadol.

+ Will I need to have teeth out?

Many people can be treated without extractions. Others with more severe problems need to have teeth removed to allow the other teeth to be aligned or to enable protruding front teeth to be moved back inside the lips.

+ How much will it cost?

Costs vary according to the degree of complexity of the problem and the type of appliances used. For your treatment, you will receive a quote which will include all appliances, adjustments and checks. Fees are most commonly paid in installments by automatic bank transfer.
